During the first year of their Masters course, Sean and his colleague, Andrew Spiller, designed this health centre located in a park in central London.  Inspired by the Victorian concept of healthcare in parks, the “lungs of the city”, the building design comprised an amphitheatre with landscaped terraces above.  A water driven funicular provided pedestrian access and made use of the large change in levels across the site.

Inside the spaces included a tepidarium and other ‘Roman’ spa facilities. They also made a short film of the model and wove clips from the movies, The Andromeda Strain and Casablanca.

The project was awarded a commendation from the Architect’s Journal.
