The design doubles the floor area of the existing house and provides a family home that maximises the benefits of the sloping site and natural daylight.
A split-level property was designed to gain an additional floor for the master bedroom suite at the rear without increasing the height of the building.
Street level is represented by a horizontal datum that runs across the front elevation and then returns through the front door and into the entrance and hallway beyond.

The front elevation has been rendered with projecting bay windows at ground floor finished with stained accoya timber cladding.
Due to the length of the house large skylights have been placed over the entrance hall and kitchen areas to ensure the interior remains well lit during the day. The interior design was refined and specified by Tactile Interiors.
Renewable energy services include an air-source heat pump; underfloor heating throughout and low energy lighting.
