The form of the home responds to the character of the residential street and scale of the bungalow to one side.  The geometry and relationship between the building elements provides a covered entrance with a metal canopy and linings to the windows and dormers.  At ground level the facing bricks have been laid to provide a tapering stepped detail between each course and at first floor level they have been laid vertically on a slight angle to create a textured surface that changes in nature as the sunlight moves around the building.

The circulation spaces have been designed to open up progressively from the front entrance towards the large open-plan kitchen / dining / sitting area situated at the rear of the home, that is the full width of the property to provide a lovely connection with the garden beyond.
